Off to The World today

Well, we finally fly out of Wellington this afternoon to San Francisco, and The World, after talking about it for years. This post is little more than an excuse to post a few pics from our various farewells.

We walked our niece Aine to school on Friday - she has just turned five.

That evening, Katie, Fin and Sofia hosted a farewell/post-election blowout at their place in Mt Victoria, which was great. Anyone short of tonic or soda water, there are at least a dozen unopened bottles left over. Talk to Katie.

Earlier yesterday the Milne and Hills families, shared a pot-luck lunch in Petone. Kiri and Aine also fly out today for a holiday in Australia. Steuart was bemoaning being the only remaining Milne sibling in New Zealand this week. Frances is already in Melbourne, and Anita is in Manchester with Brendon, Fynn and Saskia.

It won't be till we board the plane (still trying to find a way to use our air points for an upgrade) that we will finally be able to sit back and realise that we're actually leaving Wellington and everybody here.

- Jonathan.
